A SUPERB WALKING JACKET

Incredibly reliable performance with good breathability from the XCR fabric. I've been using this one for probably about 3 years, and it's never let me down in bad weather. Superb cuffs for getting gloves on etc, as they open really wide, though agree with earlier comment that velcro on cuffs can catch on storm flap
I find the hood just a little small: doesn't fit that well over a hat, particularly, e.g., my Berghaus goretex cap. For some reason I'm getting quite a bit of wear on the fabric tape that goes round the mesh liner inside at waist level, though this hasn't turned into any sign of garment failure.
A very reliable and well-made, highly breathable Goretex XCR jacket.

BRILLIANT PIECE OF KIT

* exceptional design
* flared arms
* stiff colar
* functional vents
* more pockets then you can shake a stick at
* IA collar doesnt fit snugly
* XCR material may go slightly "floppy" when drenched
brilliant (and somewhat expensive) jacket that is extremely well thought out. attension to detail such as grips for velcro tabs and flared arms are well appreciated. it is suprising how much difference flared arms make in terms of ventillation, arms remained dry through out a three day hike.

the vents also make a big difference when opened.

the only nitpick i have is that when a fleece is zipped into the jacket the fleece collars are a little crunched up. this is not really a problem.

when the jacket is soaked (this only happend once in "driving rain") the XCR material goes slightly flacid. i expect that this is true with all goretex materials. once again this doesnt really cause a problem.

simply brilliant jacket.

A PROPER JACKET FOR WALKERS

This jacket fits well with or without a fleece on and is long enough to cover your rear end in the wet.Chest pockets that can also vent are good and a security pocket for keys etc
Hand pockets a touch small and awkward to undo the velcro fastners.
A superb jacket for hill walking thats well made and looks & feels good too.

A GOOD, RELIABLE AND PRACTICAL JACKET.

It has all the quality fabrics you need in a good waterproof jacket. Handy internal pockets for mobiles or GPS and large chest pockets that can take a map or can be left open for venting. Is also long enough that you can sit on it and keep your "rear" dry when ground is a tad wet. Long, but not restrictive.
The velcro on the cuffs and storm flap often get stuck together. The fabric on the sleeves is also starting to look stressed from brushing against the velcro.
This jacket cost £220, but is worth every penny. I would refer this jacket (which I think has been updated) to anyone who likes to be practical, stylish and dry.
