OVERALL, BRILLIANT COAT, WORTH EVERY PENNY !

Very Lightweight, sub 400g's.
Very Breathable, eVent fabric works very well.
Three large pockets, fit OS map easily.
Incredile hood, really well designed.
Reinforced areas, no sign of wear or rubbing.
Proper velcro cuffs !
Waterproof zips.
Very compact when packed.
Zips are a little stiff, not big problem.
Fit is slightly odd, between the Latok and the Bergen.
Pockets can leak, but doesn't enter iside of the jacket.
Overall it's a brilliant coat, and worth every penny.

It came flat packed in a large envelpope, its very very light, at 400g's. This lightness is seen in its packing ability, its very easy to pack down small, which is ideal for day hiking.

The fabric is the ultra breathable eVent, and its really works. I've worked it really hard, and to date i've not even become slightly uncomftable, sweaty or stuffy. There is also areas of reinforced fabric, on areas of high stress. These work very well, and have not shown wear or rubbing.
The three large pockets are more than large enough for an OS ap, plus compass, route plan and gloves and hat, and buff.... etc etc . The zips are waterproof, although a litte stiff, but thats not a big problem. One thing thats not quite perfect is the pockets waterproofness, after really long periods of heavy rain, the inside pockets were damp, this caused the paper i had inside to become damp. However, this dampness did not enter the inside of the jacket, and overall really isn't that bigger deal.
The hood has got to be the best feature on the jacket. It's incredile, very well designed. Easy to use, even with gloves on and very adjustable. It also rolls away easily. The peak is more than adiquate, and keeps all rain at bay.
The velcro cuffs are a blessing, really velcro-y.

BETTER OUT THERE FOR THE MONEY

- A lightweight fully featured jacket
- Works well with a harness...Short but still protective
- Lots of condensation when I was out in the Alps last week
- Cuffs are bulky
- Zips seem wide and stiff compared to some of the other jackets on the market
- Hand pockets zips are extremely high and I like high pockets.
- Don't need abrasion resistant fabric adding weight on top of the hood
- Not particularly stylish...very noticable when walking around Chamonix.
- Doesn't fit brilliantly over my Petzl Meteor 3 helmet but it is okay
I receieved the jacket as a birthday present so I can't complain to much. There are a few niggles but you can live with them. This is the first time I have used event fabric and in my opinion there is very little difference between this and XCR, which I have used for years. I am guessing XCR is more durable and I have heard the new Pro Shell fabric is even better. For £200 you could get a top end XCR jacket on a deal as there seems to be plenty around.

'DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN'!

Extremely Light, great fit, very waterproof, great design, good pockets, feels as protective as a heavier shell.
working hard in rain going up Scafell Pike, made inside quite wet, but it was a very humid day.
I am really pleased with The Rab Super Dru, had to exchange it after a defect with the cinch cord fabric came loose after washing, but got a replacement from Rab.
Used it in driving rain and gale force winds up Helvellyn, and felt completely protected in the jacket at all times. Worth the money.

PROTECTIVE AND LIGHT

Waterproof
Light
Great hood
Good zips
Good pockets
Brilliant colour
Breathable
Great fit on me
Doesn’t ride up when climbing
There aren’t any really, my concern is durability but only time can tell
More durable patch doesn’t quite line up perfectly with my sack
When I looked up my chin came over the chin flap and I had to pull it to get my chin back inside but this I think is due to poorly adjusted hood at the moment
Working really hard you can overwhelm the breathability slightly
Water beads off it so well at the moment, though of course the DWR will wear off, but easily fixed. It’s a really good fit on me, I have a large one at 6'2" and I have an athletic build and its perfect fit. The hood is good and adjustable and won’t whip you with adjusters in wind. It does not impede your movement at all, the sleeves are long so you and reach right up easily and also long enough to cover your hands if you live. The sleeve adjusters are compact and tidy and hold the sleeve where you want it to be. So far I'm very impressed, I need to take it out on a long day when it’s worn all day for a full test, and I will update this at that time. Oh I got it for 129 quid too so brilliant value
