super light, super small wind protect for a bargain price!

Effective windproof
Really, really light
packs tiny
will keep a light shower off
can usually be bought for about £25
You could lose it it's so small when packed!
An amazing bit of kit to keep in your pack without noticing you're carrying it. Wonderful to whip this out on top of afell to keep the wind off during lunch or on an exposed ridge.

Changed how I clothe myself on the hill

Superlight. No hood to blow about. Simple.
Too baggy
Stops the wind, negating the need to wear a shell and get sweaty. This and a baselayer will get me through April to Oct, with just a shell in the bag for when it rains. Only bought one due to people recommending them on here and it's been a godsend.

Won't go anywhere outdoors without it!

Does exactly what its name says, its windproof and featherlite!
Showerproof.
None
The best on the market as far as I'm concerned. Used it for a month in Nepal, mostly with just a base-layer, whilst others were chilly in theirs. All team members now own one!

GOOD VALUE WINDPROOF

Works well as part of a layered system. Good breathability
The material is not abrasion proof and will wear rapidly especially under a rucsac waist belt. Is not waterproof.
Provides more than adequate wind proof protection and will withstand a short very light shower.

ALWAYS WEARING IT

Extremely light and compact, breathable, good fit, comfortable, tougher than it looks and reasonably priced.
No pockets.
There isn’t a single scenario when I would not wear it or take it with me. I use it all year round for walking, climbing mountain biking and cycling to collage. It is very breathable (much more than any waterproof fabric) and as a result of this 90% of the time is the only outer layer needed. Some may wonder about its durability, I know I did, but this is not an issue as I have had mine 2 years and its scraped over countless rocks and past many trees and bushes and it doesn’t show. A small chest pocket would be useful for small items such as compass or energy bar/gel however this would add a little weight. Despite only paying £20 for mine, I would not hesitate to pay full price for one.
