HANDY EXTRA LAYER
Its light quite wind proof and will resist a light shower. Its well cut for my strange body shape (too much beer probably. Best of all it packs small and it weighs almost nothing.
The plastic taps on the end of the velcro closures on the arms can get in the way especially if it's worn over or under a fleece layer.
Cheap and light weight, good ventilation from the deep chest zip. comfortable to wear

CHEAP AND CAPABLE
Light, packs down small, keeps wind out well. Good value
Cuff design not the best.
My top is the newer design without the billboard type logo across the back. Its fine for spring/autumn early mornings on the bike to keep the wind off. Cargo pocket/stuff sack is also really handy. Doesn't come with a water bottle now, I believe.

DONT BOTHER LADS
light, pack size, looks ok.
dosent resist rain or proper wind.
ok, but go for the spray way hd velocity for full wind and waterproof + a rollaway hood at £60 outdoor action.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
Useful waterbottle.
Perhaps I expect to much from windproof, like say, keeping the wind out! My yorkshire 3 peaks adventure turned into a nightmare as I froze on the top of every peak was the wind cut straight through me.
You feel like an advertising board for Sprayway with all that gubbins scrawled across the back. Although a backpack hides it, and keeps your back windproofed!
For me breathablity wasnt an issue, the jacket was too breathable, alowing the wind to shoot straight through!
I feel like I'm reviewing a different jacket, but the picture at the top matches my jacket.
Next time I'll save and get a Pertex shell.

CHEAP WINDPROOF WITH A GOOD FIT
Very light and packable Very well priced - esp with £10 off in the clearance sales in Fort William! Does what it's supposed to do!
Could use very slightly longer arms for us taller folk. The writing on the back is a bit dodgy looking.
I was put off slightly by the writing all over the back of it which looks like an advertising blurb! That said the overall cut and quality of the garment was far better than the North Cape one that I was looking at. The Sprayway has velcro cuffs, unlike most of it's competitors, so can be left open for some more air, or closed snugly around the wrist. I wasn't impressed by the elasticated cuffs on competitors models which tend to be too tight for me.
The drawcord around the waist was another nice touch which I can see being handy in the winter to keep the drafts out, and the reflective piping should come in handy on the mountain bike over winter.
The text though.... Don't know why it is there - okay it's reflective which is handy, but something other than an advertising slogan would have been nice! Fortunatly it does tend to be covered by a rucksack though!
Breathability seems okay - much better than a waterproof shell, and the deep zip helps keep things cool when working hard. A great bit of kit and for £24 a bargin! I held off buying one earlier as I was not sure if it would be cut big enough for me, if I destroy this one then I will not hesitate to replace it with the same.
In brief - great bit of kit that does exactly what it says on the tin. Go...buy.....
