Rab Rab Vapour-rise Trail Jacket

The key to Vapour-rise is the Pertex Equilibrium shell fabric. Unlike traditional Pertex fabrics, Equilibrium is highly wind resistant rather than 100 per-cent windproof and the pay off is better breathability

What's It For? The Vapour-rise Trail is Rab's hill and mountain-walking Vapour-rise top. It's cut relatively long with a handy double-ended zip and has a handy hood for stops. Like all Vapour-rise, it's about a balance of protection, wicking performance and breathability. The idea is that you should be able to wear ...  Continue reading

If you're lookin for a softshell, definately try one of these. Even when it starts getting hot I can still keep this on and feel comfortable. It never seems to get damp from sweat even after a long walk or cycle Continue reading...

does anybody know if the Rab Vapour-rise Trail jacket would fit under a Rab Pull-on Demand (Smock) of the same size. I really liked the flexibility of a VR but want the added option of lightweight e-vent waterproof for heavy rain. I've read the VR is almost a little baggy where the Demand may be more 'fitted'. Thanks.

Yes, you're kind of right about the fit, but the other variable is your body shape and the closeness of both garments. It might sound like a cop out, but your best bet is simply to pop into a Rab retailer and try the combo for size.

MY VR is baggy. I does fit under my old montane superfly and my old montane dynamo fleece though. Everything soft will squish in clothing wise but you might not look good on the hills. Is the trail VR the hooded one or not. Can't keep up with the whole VR range sinc eI bought the hooded one after reading some TGO reviewer saying it was her ideal softshell, only to be made perfect if they made the hood removable. I then saw they changed it to make the hood removable so I thought I'd get the perfect softshell according to TGO. It is good though.

I'm getting the super dru from RaB. Prefer the better hood. Unless I'm tempted into made to order analogy from Cioch. My last made to measure turned out a mistake.

If it helps, I've got a VR Trail Jacket and a Momentum jacket, both size M.  I am fairly certain that the Momentum has exactly the same fit and dimensions as the Demand.

The VR fits me perfectly and layers quite comfortably under the Momentum.  (Caveat - the VR jacket is this year's model and not at all baggy on me, even though it's an M and I'm only a 38" chest).
