NOT FOR ME - UNCOMFORTABLE AND EXPENSIVE

dryflo material is light and wicks away sweat
poor cut, found the "legs" rode up all the time leading to chaffing. The stiching was poor and felt uncomfortable against my skin
Some people love these and some people hate them as you can see by the reviews. I tried them because I thought shelling out for an expensive pair would guarantee fit and comfort but in this case not

I have since found a much better (for me) pair of briefs that have long legs and fit wonderfully well and are cheaper

The Lowe Alpine briefs are just not worth the money even if the fit was better

SUPPORTIVE AND LASTING

Support very well. Not too hot. Still wick well. Long lasting.
None I've found.
Excellent underwear of choice for the last few years. Still offering plenty of support after 20-30 washes (much more so than other technical briefs I have used). Sizing a little small (I'm normaly a medium around the waist, but needed large on these). Mine are all black, not blue. Weigh 70g on my scales. I have no reported problems with them slipping down, they sit low, but they stay there.

POOR CONSTRUCTION

fairly comfortable
seams came undone after only 1 wash.
expensive for such a poorly made item.
i wasted my money on these. should have bought smartwool or icebreaker (although lycra cycling shorts have been recommended to me for hiking).

STYLISH & FUNCTIONAL

Good fit (Sizing seems accurate)
Good compromise of weight/wicking/warmth qualities
Has fly ...unlike many other technical briefs
Bottom seam goes first before fabric wears out
Quality, well designed product.

I've had none of the problems reported by others.

Buy one pair and see!

I KNOW THEY SIZE ISN'T EVERYTHING BUT...

Quality construction.

Seem to wick okay.

Good seams.
Very odd sizing.
Personally I don't find wicking underwear anywhere near as essential as wicking tops. I don't seem to sweat 'down below' anything like I do up top. Having said that a reasonably quick drying pair of undergarments is useful if you're doing multi-day treks.

I'd always thought everything about America was big but the designers of these have shown me otherwise. Having wasted my money on a pair that should have fitted (you can hardly return them) I bought the next size up to avoid sounding like the Bee Gees.

If you get the right size they're far from bad, but personally I don't think they're an essential bit of kit.
