Warm, light and packable
Very warm for the weight, packs nice and small. Good hood.
Short length. Not a problem for me, but for taller people?
An excellent, good quality down jacket that adds little bulk or weight to a pack. I've been toasty in -15 or so in this.

SUPER EFFICIENT WARMTH
Warm+Light+Compact+Style. Although hood is attached the design and wired visor is good
Annoying hood retaining flap & Expensive at £200. Zip is waterproof, but a bit stiff (tho' still new. Down moves around the baffles very easily creating cold spots eg. if you are wearing in the car & sitting
Very pleased with performance. Paid £160 so feels a good deal.

WARM AND LIGHTWEIGHT BUT A FEW TINY NIGGLES.
Lightweight, packs down smaller enough that it can be carried without adding any serious volume or weight. Warm for the weight.
I find the neck roll velcro piece annoying as it often sticks out of the jacket. I also don't like the way the inner lining of the hood isn't stitched in. The fit could be slightly tighter as it can bulk up around the chest around.
Difficult to rate when it's the only down jacket I owe. I use it often and love putting it on in camp or just around town, just a few small changes and it would be perfect.

GREAT LIGHT WEIGHT TOASTY JACKET
Light weight Pack size Warm!! mmm
Does feel like a plastic bag when you get it out but soon fluffs up. the pockets are to low down, which is very annoying for a state of the art mountain jacket. the pockets are fine wearing a harness as you put it over, but with hip belts..
It depends on what you will use it for. Climbing Mountaineering camping winter trekking yes Urban exploring no, far to warm! Look around for the price i got it in winter sale for £116 and iam chuffed to bits with it as i love simple lightweight jackets
I tend to put it in my bag for belaying or bivis

ODD SHAPE
Warm; water resistant shell
Small size, unflattering shape, short length
I fell for the Trail review of this and bought it on the web without trying it on first. What I didn't realise was that Rab sizes are realistically one size smaller than everyone else and that the cut of this was pretty short.
It felt pretty tight and short from the off, but I stuck with it, despite my wife saying I looked like an idiot. The design seems guaranteed to make your shoulders look narrower than your body and the length is too short for my liking, so it just looked odd on me. The hood when not worn sticks out like you're standing in a wind-tunnel, but that's probably a reflection of the amount of down in it.
It coped perfectly well around a sub-zero campsite last week, so no complaints about the performance.
FWIW, my wife bought the women's version, but it was enormous and made her look like an Easter egg with legs, so she swopped it for a ME Lightline.
I've now flogged the Rab on Ebay and have replaced it with the Alpkit.
If you're thinking of buying one, I'd definitely try it on first and see if you like the look.
