Pity there's no mention of the fill weight, in g per sq metre. Would make it much easier to compare this with a number of very similar jackets.

StephenM who knows a thing or two about synthetic insulation reliably informs me that the fill is 60g/m2.

Some good reductions on Berghaus gear at Gaynors at the moment. I just ordered the Chulu Vest from there to replace my recently sold Patagonia Micropuff Vest. I reckon a 60g/m2 fill will make it more versatile.

Hi Guy\Ben,

Just spotted this thread. I got the Chulu  vest a few weeks ago on ebay for £35.  I contacted Berghaus and was told the vest had 60gm2 fill.

I bought it primarily for non hill use as I have a Rab Geneator vest for that kind of stuff and didn't want to wreck the Genearator using it every day.

The chulu is a great piece of kit, its not as light or as warm on paper as the Geneartor but it does have better pockets and feels more durable. If weight or pack size is not an issue for me or I will be wearing it a lot then I think this is a better all rounder than the Generator.

I agree with Ben with it being a versatile bit of kit.

Cheers,

Stephen
