Excellent bit of kit.......

I love the Special 6 top and have done for sereval years. It keeps you extremely warm and Ive even used it for beach fishing when it's snowing with just a thin top underneath and its kept my body temperature just right. Ive worn it in the rain and it hasnt leaked, but Im conscious its not 100% waterproof - but can certainly handle minor downpours with ease.
If only they could make them 100% wateproof then I wouldnt feel the need to carry a goretex jacket with me.
If you go walking then decide to go into a pub which has an open fire you will dehydrate in minutes! It's sooooo warm....
Some reinforced material on the elbows would be nice.
Colour range is limited
Brilliant product and I always carry it with me in the winter in the event I get stuck somewhere on a mountain. Would definitely get another

A really really warm winter jacket/outer

Did I mention warm? Used extensively last winter in preference to my beloved paramo and performed superbly
Relatively light considering its a winter outer and mid-layer in one
some clever features and I love the handwarmer pockets
the hood is very poor if you buy it (sold separately)
a tad expensive? having said that if you look around there are deals that bring it below the 100quid mark
I love this jacket, but only for the winter. It is far too warm for anything outside of that (for me anyway). Its breathable and I didnt seem to drown in sweat whilst using it. Coped with last winter so well and will getting another airin this winter. Havent tested it in a serious downpour yet but I am sure that will happen sooner or later. The depth of the pile however will mean, i am sure, that even if wetted out will provide very good insulation. Thoroughly recommend this jacket. The hood is another matter (its warm but a little bit floppy...but thats just my opinion....get a hat)

FANTASTIC

Extreme reliability and functionality - a definite content over style product that just keep on working year after year.
Use is highly dependant upon conditions.
I love Buffalo gear - for me, under the right conditions, it's just not possible to beat it. I base this gushing affection on price, longevity and function. To qualify that statement, my WindShirt has lasted over 20 years of, mostly, yearly winter use. I doubt that there are many jackets that could last that long even WITHOUT being used. It's this durability that makes it so darn cheap.

As so many others have said, for most people, this is not a jacket for warm conditions - it performs best when it's cold and windy. Saying that, I've worn this on many occasions when the rain has been blasting down, and I've been soaked to the skin....but still warm and comfortable. An hour after the rain stops and the shirt is dry.

Considering all of the kit I own, and even taking into account the slightly limited conditions in which this can be worn, it is my favourite piece of kit ever.
