I got one of these for Winter walking just before going to Scotland, weekend before current snow/big chill. I wanted a jacket to replace a traditional heavy fleece. It was great and not too warm when worn above the snow line. I also found that the issue with the pockets interfering with rucksack belt was not a problem. Partly because I mainly wore it under a shell with gloves while using 2 poles and beacuse for me the pockets extended below rucksack belt. I used jacket with a Helly prowool base layer and movement ability was great and slight waterproofness of outer proved a bonous in snow/misty conditions. Jacket is very packable and light. I have since used jacket for local walks and about town where the pockets positioned near the hem and waterproof (ish) outer have proved a wise choice along with the internal pocket - great for phone/money. I chose this in preference to a Montane Flux, mainly due to fit, but also prefered pockets, materials and hood on RAB jacket
