VALUE FOR MONEY?WATCH THE SHRINKAGE!
Nice looking top that is lovely and soft and comfy.Like the thumb loops.
One weakness and its a big un,washing the bloody things a mightmare...really limits it use to local or more "civilised"trips.
Another Aldi bargain!

CHEAP MERINO TOP
The price, reasonably comfortable long sleeves with thumb loops, colours ok.
Washing wool hand wash which would restrict its use by me for backpacking and canoeing as I like something that can be washed tumbled and reworn like the Rab merino baselayer.Med was abit to tight large is baggy.Seems to wear quickly on the seams
I think for the price it's good value a pity about the wash cycle as it would make it a five star top. Proberbly be worn for local trips as a base layer as well as a mid, will keep mey eyes on Aldi for any more items.

NOT AN ICEBREAKER-BREAKER, BUT NOT AS EXPENSIVE EITHER!
unreal price, fantastic value, interesting colourschemes (compared to boring 1 colour). can but 4 or 5 for the price of 1 pro-brand. Seriously, it doesn't smell after a couple of days, worth the cost for that alone.
not as soft, windproof or well made. creases up after washing. durability uncertain, performance above 120 m uncertain
excellent! mid or base layer rather than potential outer layer than icebreaker can be used for. Buy some when (not if!) you see 'em. wash in the shower with shampoo if you're lazy.

Superb cheap merino wool top.
Very comfortable soft mid layer. So cheap its almost disposible. Size(M) fits well (for me anyway). Nice colours. I could live in this top for the rest of my days!
Not the highest quality, Emergency stitching required to prevent the thing unravelling. This material will not tolerate modern washing methods without turning to baby size, so just keep it on when you take a bath or shower and allow yourself to drip dry. As far as im aware these tops are only available intermittently.
I usually hate wearing mid layers, but this top has converted me to merino wool tops forever. It is very comfortable and warm and will accompany me on all my travels while it lasts. Its not particuarly robust, but for the price, even if it only lasts a couple of months I won't complain too much, I will just replace it at the next Aldi sale.
