EXPENSIVE BUT BEAUTIFUL

Prints portrait-shaped areas of map as well as landscape. Has automatic printing of long irregular routes over several pages. Imports waymarks from mmo - emailable - files. Has the new access areas.
It was a nightmare to install on my PC. The help desk is only open 4 hours per day. The onscreen help is about average. Actually it isn't an upgrade but sits side by side with your previous software. Lots of useless samples and other maps are just clutter - why not give a separate disk with freebies? The cost of the 'upgrade': add postage and it came to £63 for my 1:25000 national park map.
I've had the 2004 version for 2 years, without possessing a GPS. I love it. The upgrade to V5 is not essential but has some nice extras. With either version I can plan walks, explore the details on the map in comfort, adjust walks to desired number of miles, feet gained and time taken and find out just how strenuous someone else's walk actually was. Print your route (on waterproof paper)at a large scale for ease of reading without your glasses. It knocks the socks off the competitors' products and struggling with a traditional OS map in the wind and rain.

ONLY GOOD FOR PLANNING ROUTES ON HOME PC

Good route planning on OS maps on home PC
Good A4 map printing
Very poor and unreliable software on pocket pc
expensive maps
uncompatible with older maps
ive used this software on pocket pc with bluetooth gps reciever in the hills for continous realtime mapping. it has so far proved to be very unreliable except for short (1hr) routes. if your looking for mobile gps system look elsewhere. its good for route planning at home tho.
