a handy and light piece of cooking kit

I bought a jetboil as my main coffee and soup maker. There are a few criticisms about the jetboil which appear to be rectified in the the new model, however it is still no use for main meals. I refer to my coleman F1 to to that. They both use the british standard gas containers and given the light weight of the F1 it is ideal complement to the jetboil. Use the same gas that I would carry anyway. Just need a pot.
Main problem with the F1 is that it is footery and I keep forgetting which way it screws together.
It is a handy piece of kit. I got it really cheap from Gooutdoors which makes it even better. There is no reason that I found not to buy it especially jetboil owners.

Excellent item of kit

Very light and can be folded down and stored in its own pouch and its takes up very little space in your pack. If out of the wind boils water very quick.
Gas supply canisters or small and light enough to pack 2 if you feel the need or in fact one of the larger ones.
Needs to be very flat where you use it and the pan support arms can be easily damaged and bent if you just chuck it back into your pack without folding them back ( Simple lesson learnt)
Very good bit of kit I think I have used it for a long time now and have not suffered any of the problems that others have reported.

i used this stove on the south west coastal footpath last year and initially i was really pleased with it

this is a fantastic little stove, weighs nothing and comes in a neat little pouch that is tiny as the pan supports fold back so it packs in a flat package. a pan on a stove which is directly on top of a gas cylinder obviously needs to be watched as stability is not brilliant. it boiled my water(in my vestibule out of wind) really quickly and i thought it the best option for lightweight camping where gas cylinders are easily available.
the pan support arms easily bend but this is manageable and one just has to be aware of it.
the main concern was that all of a sudden the power completely vanished - from one day to the next. the cooker would still light byt the power was so weak that i constantly doubted that it would even light and when it did the flame was so weak that it took ages to boil a very small pan of water.i therefore would not feel that i could trust this again on a long ( 2 months plus) trip and certainly not where i could not replace it with another lightweight stove. it has proved impossible to repair.
initially i was extremely pleased with this product for its weight, compactness and efficiency. as it suddenly and for no apparent reason let me down and virtually refused to function i woould not trust another not to let me down. this is a shame as while it was working, it was extremely good

FAST N LITE, BUT CHEAP AND UNRELIABLE

Light, Cheap enough, very fast at boiling water.
Pot stand is 'slidey' - pots slide off easily if smooth on base. Also a bit flimsy.

Poor quality construction.

Not durable at all.

Initially happy with it but diappointment soon kicked in.

Had mine for a year, has done about 5 trips. Now duff.

Fuel tap got stiffer and stiffer despite being lubricated - to the point that I managed to twist the plastic knob off the splined shaft with my finger and thumb!
