A great way of adding the benefits of gas to the stability and durability of a Trangia.

Can easily control temperature and flow rate.
Well built and durable.
Powerful flame.
Pre-heating coil.
Quite pricey (but you do get a quality product).
A little fiddly to fit at first.
I've used these on a number of expeditions. I was extremely impressed by its power and speed, especially as I'd only used meths before. Due to the windproof and heat reflecting properties of a Trangia, it was fuel efficient and quick.

Makes the Trangia the perfect system

Super hot burner when you need it, infinitely controllable, very fast to boil water
A bit heavy
Usual problems when your gas cylinder is running low
Reduced performance in cold weather (but still better than meths)
A Duossal Trangia with gas burner is my stove of choice having tried loads of others. All the benefits of the Trangia system but fast !

ADD THIS TO A TRANGIA AND YOU HAVE THE PERFECT STOVE

Very fast boiling
Great simmering
All the usual Trangia benefits - pots and pans included, windproof etc
Light enough if using a lightweight Trangia
Hard to assess how much fuel left - don't run out !
Cold weather performance depends on what gas you are using
Expensive, on top of the cost of a Trangia
After trying every type of stove for backpacking, I settled on a lightweight Trangia 27 in Duossal (stainless steel/alu composite) with gas conversion. Just fantastic - simple, always works, doesn't mind the wind, controllable, no fussy priming when you are cold wet and tired.

EXCELLENT NEW LEASE OF LIFE

Faster boil times. No smelly meths.
The flexi-tube is not long enough to use a 500g cartridge without finding something to sit the trangia on - not so much a weakness as a minor irritation.
As an existing Trangia owner I think it's a worthwhile investment. Trangia stability, windbreak, a set of pans, now with the convenience of gas.
