Big and heavy

Big and heavy when you need it (you know what I mean)
Well made
A classic
Bulb always breaking
Very heavy
Technology has moved on and left this torch behind - there are lighter, brighter, tougher torches available for a lot less

THE BEAST

Strength
Power
The batterise suprisingly last a very long time
It can still blind my little brother in daylight.
Weight
This is not a backpacking torch
I got mine for £18 in Holland so I cant complain about the price but on the other hand you pay for quality and this is it

A SUPERB PIECE OF KIT

Robust enough to last a life time. Indeed it is a lifesaver. I used it to extract myself off Scafell Pike in darkness and poor visibility. The alternative was an unscheduled overnight stay in horrendous conditions on the mountain. The ability to widen and extend the beam is invaluable- I would not be without it on any future trips.
If this torch has a weakness it is probably the weight. It is quite heavy and I initially wondered whether it was worth taking on trips. However following my experiences it is still one of the first pieces of kit in my bag.
First class, I'm deciding whether to get a smaller 2D version.

GOOD FOR WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE A BASEBALL BAT HANDY

Simple-easy to operate button
Sturdy-unlikely to break
Good for self-defence-use when scared that a burglar is getting into your home (no kidding, it's the first thing we grab-that handle is beefy)
HEAVY-REALLY REALLY HEAVY-does it really have to weigh this much? Can be cumbersome to carry
I don't think it gives off that much light for it's size
Expensive
We bought it because we belived Maglite torches were of good quality and we needed a torch in NZ and all they seemed to sell was Maglites. Got it cheap (£15). In retrospect I think I'll keep it for looking at things in the garden or for if I break down in the car

AS ABOVE REALLY

Solid as a rock, excellent lighting, adjustable beam very useful, if you need to find out what that noise is in the garage is at 3am take one of these cos the lights excellent and it could be used for self defence! Batteries last ages.
It is heavy, but that is also an advantage in a way!!
A little expensive.
The best torch money can buy... it will not ley tou down.
