GOOD VALUE LED TORCH FOR CAMPING EXCELLENT BACKUP

Light, versatile. V Good grip
Not bright enough for finding your way about, 'lantern' concept is only suitable for background light.
This torch tries to be two-in-one; a torch and a lantern. It uses a wide-spread single LED, focused through a lens for torch use. For general lighting, you slide part of the torch body up, and it casts a dim glow all around. This is enough to see your way around a tent, not quite enough to read by. Part of the body is sharp machined and knurled aluminum. This feels sharp - my gf commented that she could file her nails with it. (Don't laugh, her nails are fearsome and would easily double as crampons).
The beam is ok for picking your way, but like most LEDs just doesn't put out enough of a beam for route-finding.
