AN EXCELLENT CARRIER
Comfortable, both to carry and (apparently, more later!) to be carried in.
Hard wearing.
Has many useful features and no useless gimmicks.
Is size adaptable so both my wife (5'6") and I (6') could use it.
Has reasonable room for carrying equipment, food drinks etc.
The child harness seems very securewith little chance of the child falling out.
Perhaps on the heavy side.
I have a previous version which came without a waterproof cover.
On the expensive side, but you certainly seem to get what you pay for.
My Macpac Possum is now finally retired after 3 children and countless miles. Some of the seams are looking stretched and there has been some wear on the contact points particularly around the hipbelt. However no repairs have been required although the buckle is now cracked after it was stood on by a size nine Scarpa Manta.
The child contact points are stained by years of dribble and dropped food and no longer look clean. Also the colours have faded and wear is evident but after seven years this is to be expected.
This carrier has been used to climb mountains (OK walk up hills), on long full day walks, on holiday strolls, through Christmas shopping crushes and whilst supermarket shopping. It has gone on aircraft, ships, trains, buses, in cars and even on a bike (not recommended!!). It has even been used by my wife whilst cooking and cleaning in the house (sorry if that seems chauvanistic).
All 3 of my children have been carried from around 6 months to over 3 years of age at times and they all fell asleep at times whilst being carried. They all still remember being carried on Mummies or Daddies back and being able to see so much more whilst up there than in a buggy.
I have recommended this to other parents I know, at least 2 of whom have since bought one.
The model I have has now been upgraded so some things have changed but I would certainly heartily recommend this to anyone.
