Hi Andrew,

Slight back length difference between the Med (12L) and Large (20L) but I find it's quite flexible as to where you mount it on your back as the harness has a yolk. So you can either have it hip loading or around the abdomen just by tightening the shoulder straps. The pack was designed around running rather than biking as with most of the hydration packs, hence the pre-cupped hip belt (initially used on our ski/board packs to lock the hipbelt onto the hips) and the sliding harness which stops the balance being disturbed as you move your arms. I use a Med for summer biking/hiking and a Large in winter to give a wee bit more room for a LIM Barrier pull on, spare gloves, spare batteries etc when night-riding.

Hi,

 Following on from Andrew's post above. I'm 185cm, and want the pack to be above my hips so that I can run freely in the hills. I'm having trouble deciding which to get -the L or M. I'm going to order from Asia, it's not freezing cold here, just cool. I only need to carry my berghaus paclite, a couple of dhirts that "ll change when wet, some food, two water bottles, hagloffs vest, maybe some pants. I'd prefer to get the M, unless I can be sure the L will stay above my hips when running.
