PERFECT OTHER THAN THE SQUEAKING
Easy to pack, neat and tidy, extra space if needed, extremely comfortable.
Squeaks, rain cover disagrees with wind.
An excellent pack when used with drybags inside.

EXTREMELY INNOVATIVE AND NON GIMMICK BACK SYSTEM
'BioFlex' back system Rain Cover Split storage with removable divider Full hydration compatible Very Comfortable
I have camped with this on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition when it was full to the brim with equipment, and I would not liked to have used any other Rucksack. The Bioflex system fits perfectly to any back and is fully customisable. I have used all of the features - resivoir/Hydration compartment which has a hole in the lid and an elastic band on the strap to hold in place to drink, trekking pole holder and the bergbuckle is a very good idea.
It's more comfortable than a lighter, smaller bag even when carrying next to nothing and I always choose this over any of my other equipment.
Users who have encountered squeaks, my response is I did get it squeaking at first but I changed my stature to a more upright position rather that slumping it stops, I've got used ot this - It also gets worse with more weight.
Highly Reccommended

REALLY NEAT BACK SYSTEM
Great freedom of movement thanks to the Bioflex system, good ventilation (ditto), nice hip belt
Bulky for travel, noisy, a bit heavy
I got this as a replacement for a cheap rucksack that I had had for years, what a difference, I had not really appreciated how restrictive is was until I tried the C7. Excellent hip belt with good padding and stiff moulded sides (good performance but a drawback when trying to stow the pack), I worry slightly about the complexity of the Bioflex system, a lot of load on some quite small (fragile?) moving parts (but who knows, its been 100% so far), Squeeks as you walk, a bit annoying but no big deal.

COMFORTABLE BUT INADEQUATE
It was a very comfortable rucksack it has to be said. Lots of room with suitable pockets, outside and in, thatmade it very practical.
Squeeks...those damn squeeks. They not only annoyed me but my fellow walkers too. Leaving that aside the most annoying feature was that it is sold as a 70+10, so why are there not extendable straps to the lid? It has the 'spare material' to extend the body of the sack but the lid then has to close vertically against the side of the extended lid! I also found under load the arm straps became difficult to adjust. I tried lifting the sack up or bending over to take the strain but it was very difficult to tighten (my companion had the same rucksack and had the same problem...so it was not just me). Finnaly the hip belt. We travelled to Argentina and on arrival the belt was smashed. Its made with a plastic cover and this fell apart. One would have thought a Berghause sack would have been made of sterner stuff to survive air travel. I returned the bag when I got back with a full refund from Berghaus. They said the bag was 'in development' and that the updated model would be out soon (this was in February 2007).I cracked plastic they put down to the cold hold and change in temperature on arrival..hmm.The straps they said were tricky because it was under load when I tightened them..well I could hardly tighten them when its not on my back. .
All in all a poor product. Probably ok for a squeeky weekend in Wales but not upto any form of serious activity.

COMFORTABLE AND HARD WEARING
Comfortable, good design, useful pockets, loads of space
None that i've found. Some say it isnt waterproof but i've not had that problem. The bioflex system takes a little while to set up initially but after that it works well. One weakness is that it doesn't pack very flat because the hip belt won't pack flat due to the bioflex system.
An excellent pack. Very comfortable with loads of room to expand it and carry everything you'll ever need!
