SWALLOWS (AHEM...) KIT LIKE NO OTHER

It has a seemingly endless ability to take on kit (which is rather perverse for an ultra-light 'sack). It easily carried kit for 5days in Galloway, including food, and at a weight of around 40lb, was comfortable. The hipbelt design is genius. The material is hard-wearing (I've been using it for 6 months, and I don't understand people who say it isn't), and the build quality is typical of golite - flawless. And the price is pretty nice, too.
The stability is genuinely apalling. Adding some compression straps and stabiliser straps would make an enormous difference, as would mesh side pockets.
Not perfect, but with some minor tweaking (simple enough to easily do yourself) it'll be close enough.

ULTRALIGHT NEEDN'T MEAN UNCOMFORTABLE

Very comfortable considering the frameless construction, ultralight, I love the simplicity.
Poor water resistance, annoying top closure to bag, unstable when overloaded, no mesh pockets.
I never thought that 'ultralight' could be synonymous with 'comfort' – until now. As long as I keep the weight down I find it carries far better than my high-spec bag that weighs 4x as much. Mesh pockets on outside would be great. Not waterproof, but I use a waterproof liner, so this is not a big issue for me.

PERFECT ULTRALIGHT PACK FOR LONG OUTINGS

Very strong, great carry, very light. I used one on the Pyrenees HLR and it was deffinately the right sack!
No hole for hydration tube, tool loops are low on the pack so get worn when putting the sack down
The best pack I've ever used. Why did we ever put frames in?

GREAT LIGHTWEIGHT SACK

So light,strong ,good carry.
Must use a rain cover. No mesh pockets.
Roll a foam mat inside it and put gear in that.Sew two mesh pockets on and you have a great lightweight backpacking sack at a good price

GREAT UL PACK FOR LONGER OUTINGS

Light, comfortable.
No side mesh pockets.
Great value. If you want the back a bit stiffer, remove the foam pad from the back pocket and make a "copy" from a thicker foam sleeping mat.
