CARRIES HUGE LOADS IN COMFORT

Very durable
Carries heavy loads in comfort
Reasonable climbing sack
Excellent Turtle Shield back system
Bright interior makes it easier to see your gear
Bit heavy
Aluminium stay not strippable
Too short compressions straps for gear stacking
Floating lid doesn't come high enough
Top pocket not easy to use
Feels smaller than the stated 50 litres
This sack has been with me on many occasions, from alpine climbing to trekking and I love it. It has survived a lot of punishment yet is still in excellent condition. The weaknesses I have stated are my personal prefences and some might not need those features. It is a tad heavy at 1,8 kg, but you can strip the lid and hipbelt, saving several hundred grams. I have also made some changes on my own, making the frame removable (the back system works well without it) and cutting hydration sleeve and center compression strap away, then fitting bungee cord instead. I've also modified the closure system by extending the storm throat which is too short if your sack is full.

The carrying system would take even bigger loads, but you just can't throw that much gear into the stated 50 litres. The shape makes it quite awkward to pack yet it climbs very well for such a big sack.

If Carlsberg made a rucksacksthis would by it.

Sits high up to avoid getting in the way of a harness, highly adjustable, perfectly positioned gear racks, ideal capacity for 3 day climb/camp. Pockets just where you need them, but not where you don't. slimline design to avoid snagging while climbing.
Maybe a bit expensive, but still worth every penny.
For climbing / Scrambling / Alpine use there's probably no better pack in the world. Ideal capacity and specifically designed for climbing.
