Lowe Alpine MX Attack Pro 50+10
Solid, unflashy and immensely capable year-round mountain pack that'll handle pretty much everything you can throw at it

Our Review

Reviewed: 1 February 2010 by Jon
What's It For? The Attack MX50 is a year-round, alpine / mountain pack designed to be able to carry pretty much anything from skis, through winter climbing equipment to a big rock rack and ropes. It's also large enough to swallow bivvy and camping gear and a respectable amount of food. ...  Continue reading

Wouldn't mind having forged buckles like that on my pack, can you buy them anywhere?

Bump.

Anyone?

You could buy a Lowe Alpine pack, just to cut the buckles off!!

Well maybe I will, an expensive way to get a couple of buckles though.....Oh I see, that was a joke.....

Does look like a nice pack mind...

If you were going to put them onto a pack you already have you'd have to remove the female socket and restitch the loop you removed it from but leaving it longer to engage with the new metal buckle.

Unless you want the buckles for something completely different?

That's what I had in mind AL, I'm not adverse to a bit of gear modification. Do you know if these buckles are available anywhere? I've checked the DMM website but couldn't find them on there.

Not that I'm aware of, I think Lowe Alpine just buys them direct from DMM, not available to the public afaik. They are very neat.

Thanks Jon, shame they're not available to joe public, they do look neat. OTOH I've never actually broken a lid buckle so it's a bit of an unneccesary tweak for my pack anyway.

Pod also uses a very similar design this spring. Don't know if they are available as a spare part though.

Thanks Jon, I'll keep me eyes open.

Benco, I saw these and thought of you. They're probably way too big cos they're from a bouldering mat, but you could contact the Alpboys and see where they got them from.

Ta Kate, those are just the sort of thing, as you say probably too big but worth a try.
