WARM, SMELLY BUT BRILLIANT ALL THE SAME

Guaranteed to keep you warm and even better teamed with a G/tex bivi bag.
The burst-out zip is great too.
Very snug.
A bit bulky and heavy, takes a long time to dry if its soaked(hence the bivi bag!).
Specialist clean if you get it really dirty.
I love this bag, in fact I have 2 of them, both long, heavy winter ones . Its actually a goose down filling but can be a bit spikey so beware, they also have a really individual smell but a great bag overall and you can't go wrong for the money.
Here's another tit-bit, they're actually made by North Face no less.

VERY WARM & COMFORTABLE BUT HEAVY!

I have an extra long version of the new type not '58 pattern, it is an excelletn bag, lovely and warm, plenty of room and the burst out zip down the centre is great, (can't get used to these civvy side zip bags, I keep rolling aroud in my new civvy bag trying to get the zip to the front then my head's not in the hood!
Bloody heavy and can fill your bergen on it's on! I suppose it can get smelly but when it's your own smell it's ok.
Got my self lightweight summer bag and a lightweight winter bag, so my army bag is only used for the car camping trips.

KEPT ME WARM ON DARTMOOR. BLOWING A HOOLIE AND ABOUT - 5C.

Really warm
Built in groundsheet so you can sit outside in it and do cooking there (in good weather). It hasn't got wet from doing this either, even in damp conditions.

CHEAP!
Huge pack size,
Really heavy,
'Down' has the pointy bits so you end up looking like you have been fiughting chickens all night as it leaks.
Really warm, it has seen me through the start of my backpacking, now going to upgrade but really good stuff!

I guess wont be good for long term as it might not hold the down long enough.. so 3 for Reliability where i would get 4 if it didn't leak.
