First self inflating mat, very pleased

light, packs small, comfortable
Should have got a longer version
I've had carrymats up to now and I thought they were OK so this was a revelation in terms of comfort.

GREAT PRICE GREAT PERFORMANCE

Packs down small, doesn't mind being folded to fit into a rucksack. Inflates well on its own with just a short puff of air to finish it off.
My first self inflating mat and I am mightily impressed. Best nights sleep I've ever had in a tent.

COMFORTABLE, COMPRESSABLE, GOOD PRICE...

A very affordable mat. I originally bought mine as a "test" with the intention of getting a Thermarest if this was any good. My first Wee Airic is still going strong after 30 or so nights of abuse, I haven't needed to upgrade. I like the way it folds in half lengthways to make a smaller pack size. It's only slightly larger and heavier than more expensive alternatives. It's far more comfortable than a foam mat.
The valve does not feel as strong as a Thermarest valve.

One of my Wee Airics has recently (after about 12 months and 20-odd nights of use) developed a problem in that the foam is delaminating from the outer fabric, causing a bulge, however after a single short email Alpkit have agreed to replace it for me.
Can you really lose at this price? Nobody is pretending it's as well made as the Thermarest Prolite 3 short (its closest competitor) but in my experience, my two mats have stood up well to a fair amount of use and abuse bivvying and camping.

A GREAT LITTLE MAT

Cheaper, lighter, packs down smaller and does the same job as a Thermatest equivalent
Face fabric has a tendency to absorb water
I wish Alpkit had been around when I bought my original Thermarest 3/4. This beats it hands down for weight and performance, and for £15 is amazingly good value.
