A very light option for the uber obsessed :)
Insanely light warm for the weight reasonably comfortable believe it or not cheap as chips
is hard to fold flat so tend to have to carry as a cylinder on the pack. not the most robust of materials.
I have used this successfully in the summer but not tried it in the winter. Worth a try if weight is really important to you. I have the bubble wrap version, the radiator reflector bubble wrap version and the laminate underlay foam as well. I will recommend it but it is very niche and not for the faint hearted!
Imperial Dave would recommend this product

Hardcore lightweight users dream...
It's really, really light. A twentieth of the weight of the lightest thermarest. Custom system - choose your degree of comfort and insulation eg: Three layers of bubble wrap, 2ft by 6ft, only 30g! Reasonable insulation, reasonable comfort. One layer of bubble wrap weighs next to nothing but minimal comfort and vague insulation only. Waterproof. Popping the bubbles can keep you occupied when waiting in the tent.
In order to get a good nights sleep you need 2 or more layers, which can be hard to fit into a KIMM sac along with tent etc. Can be a little noisy, especially when getting in or out of tent. Not really going to last more than one race...
A specialist ultralight niche product for adventure racing, popular* (in relative terms) on the KIMM or LAMM to keep the pack weight down. Pleasantly cheap, certainly the cheapest bit of kit you'll see around for a while. * just how popular do you think sleeping in a muddy field on bubblewrap to be?
