A tent I have grown to love.

One thing nobody has mentioned is just how good this tent is in oppressive hot sunshine. It is the only tent I have that provides shade, most tents are uncomfortable in such conditions. Also, although I have used this tent a lot my groundsheet is as good as new. I always use a plastic sheet under it.
I have replaced the guy lines and runners. Also the shock cord loops.
This tent is best for the summer, late Spring or early Autumn. The two way zip on the door means one can lie in it and watch the sky.

BEST FOR ME YET.

Good weather capability.
East to pitch.
Roomy for one + gear.
Lightweight and easily packable.
Not really come across a weakness that has annoyed me, the large mesh area of the inner tent has provided excellent ventilation and I welcome that.
I bought this Viper tent around six years back and have used it several times each year from spring through late autumn. The longest one pitch camp was for 13 nights at the Hoge Veluwe in the Dutch Gelderland, for two of the nights violent thunderstorms with torrential rain erupted lasting around 3 hours but the inner tent was as dry as when first pitched. I do use a footprint made from a decorators polythene dustsheet which is extremely light and effective which serves well for keeping the floor dry. On warm nights I open fully the half circular side zipped entrance and leave the inner 3/4 tent zip half open. The Coleman Viper must be one of the easiest tents to enter and exit due to the huge side openings. This Viper has served me well and I find it a great pity that Coleman in their wisdom have decided to cease production of such a simple one pole, well designed tent. You only need to read the reviews of other users to figure that out.
It would be nice one day to replace my Viper with a new Viper from Coleman. Get my drift Coleman?

SHAME THEY DON'T MAKE 'EM ANYMORE

Good value for money even at full price (£80ish).
Tall and spacious for 1.
Robust construction.
Could do with being 0.5Kg lighter.
A bit too much mesh in the inner - can be draughty.
Too many pegs!
A great tent, don't know why they discontinued it.

EXCELLENT VALUE

Plenty headroom and storage / cooking space.
one man only in reality as it tapers vertically. It is as has been said before draughty.
High wind pitching is possible with either end into it. Toe or head. I survived a 60mph gale in South Uist in it!

GREAT LITTLE TENT

Great little tent with enough room for me and a German Shepherd dog porch just big enough for cooking and kit in wet weather and not to bad on weight especially at the price.

None really other than it's a inner pitch before fly
Great little tent not bad on weight not ultral lightweight but as said before cannot beat the price found a last years model for 40.00.
