Macpac Microlight - A benchmark in 1 man tents.

I've used mine regularly now for 13 years and it is one of the best pieces of kit I've ever owned. A high quality tent at a great price. The two mates I go walking with most regularly have both now bought their own. Mine has coped remarkably well with everything from tropical downpours to arctic conditions. It's never even hinted that it might be about to leak or blow down even in the harshest of weather. It is a good size (my mate is 6'2" and finds his big enough) with plenty of room around the head and for a pack in the porch. I'd happily use this in pretty much any environment.
It isn't the lightest one man tent, perhaps.
No other issues.
This really is a great tent at a sensible price. The minimal weight penalty is more than made up for by the robustness of construction and its reliability in poor weather.

Small cramped and not all that good

It is small and compact
Too small really, I found it claustrophobic and thepole sleeve is 'sticky'
Not the best, there are better available in this style of shelter

Very light, very waterproof, very well made

Perfect backpacking tent for one
Light
Very well-made
Stable enough for the weight
Odd inner / outer zip arrangement
Vestibule very small - hard to squeeze your pack in there
Not a two-person tent
My tent of choice for a one-man backpacking trip - light, weatherproof, simpel to put up, inner pitches with outer

EZ TO PITCH NONONSENSE ONEPERSON HOTELROOM

+ easy pitching, even if you don't pack inner and fly together [I like them separate sothat I can pack my rucksac more efficiently];
+ ground sheet abolutely waterproof - even after seven seasons of trekking/camping;
+ over all good materials, like zips, pole, flysheet;
+ efficient use of ground area.
- none experienced yet
EZ to pitch; ample space for myself plus a large rucksac in the vestibule.
I position the tent's pole parallel to the wind direction; in high wind I set myself with my back against the pole.
Highly recommended!

FAB TENT KEPT ME DRY

Lightweight and east to erect. Very good ground sheet. pitch as you like. Outer first with inner connected.
After severe storm on the nantle ridge camped at cwm silyn. Tent ripped, fabric very thin. Macpac repaired tent for a fee (claimed I tripped up on the tent! How dare they!) Other tents including some force ten geodesic domes were ruined which suggests that the conditions were harsh.
So far great! A bit worried about the paper thin material around the edges.
