GOOD, GOOD, GOOD

Simple to erect, bombproof build and design, plenty of room for one, good weight for backpack trips in Scotland, can withstand Scots wind and rain at altitude.
I wish the inner opened the same side as the outer.
I used this in Scotland in rain and wind - with the emphasis on wind. Weebles wobble but this didn't fall down. This is the dog's whatsits.

LIGHT, GREEN :-)

Light and small tent. Ground sheet is the best I have seen.
Needs seam sealed before first usage. Doors are offset, makes getting in and out a little tricky, a little odd that, but I can live with it.

Wind sensitive, as the other reviews, put its back to the wind, a cross wind over the pole will twist and distort it. Bounces back though!
Good roomy tent, able to sit up. Good all round useage, quick and easy to put up and take down.

The vestible is a good size. Packs down to a size suitable for backpacking.

I got mine for under £200

RELIABLE FRIEND

Survives the worst downpour and keeps you dry (unless you pitch in a puddle!). Quick to put up. Lightweight and compact. Always nice to know you will have comfortable accommodation at the end of the day.
Pegs didn't last too long. I wish the pole would fold up into equal lengths.
I have used this tent for cycle touring and extended backpacking trips and it still looks new after 5 years. The ground sheet is tough and I expect many more years reliable use. Worth every penny.

BEST THERE IS

Light, tough, warm, small pack size, SHEDS SNOW WELL.
None
I've had mine for about five years and it looks as good as the day I bought it. I double pole it for winter use and it's solid as a ROCK.

THE COMFORTABLE RELIABLE SOLO OR VERY FRIENDLY TENT

Firstly You can sit up in it.

Pitches all in one.

Up in seconds.

Good snow shedding capabilities.

Pleasant interior colour in bad weather.

Mozzie/ midge netting.
Always need to pitch into the wind. As if a strong wind goes across the ridge (pole) then the tent will flatten.

Tends to self right, yet a bit uncomfortable if your sleeping. Only experienced this once and the rest of the campsite was 80% destroyed.

So not really a weakness, but an observation.
There are lighter tents, but only just.

Macpac tents are durable and can be used in conditions that they are not rated for, as long as you pitch sensibly.

Mine is the lighter version 1.55kg and has seen some 2 person competitive duty and some solo use.

I've used Hilleberg,Saunders and Phoenix and Hooped bivis in the past and on balance this is the best, though at this weight there are always some compromises whichever tent you go for.

With all the others there has always been something I've ended up hating.

Not this one though.

5 Stars.....Oh Yes
