GOOD BUT NOT NICE

It's light, and definitely waterproof...and improvement on a bivvy for not much extra weight
Awkward to pitch, with a top sheet that dosen't fit brilliantly.Sags if you have to pitch it on slightly concave ground, as there's not enough adustment in the straps to compensate. Would be brilliant if if pitched outer first
I wouldn't take a bivvy on a weeks' trip, but I would take this...I wouldn't be the happiest bunny in the world though! I don't understand why manufacturers of hardcore walking tents STILL make ones that have to be pitched inner-first. The waterproofing is irrelevant if the water's got inside to start with! That said once up, it has kept me dry in a thunderstorm. I'm now using an MSR hubba, which, for 300 grams more is much more roomy and stable.

IT'S A GOOD LITTLE TENT

It takes about 2-3 minutes to erect, Its stood upto strong winds and heavy rain, light weight pegs, poles and tent. total 1.3kg
Thin ground sheet could do with a stronger fabric ,fly sheet could do been a little higher from the inner tent
I like this tent I had it for 3 years bought for £145. Camped in snow ,gales and heavy rain sometimes i've been damp but that to be expected generally it's done the trick.
Like anything their is room for improvements

GOOD BUT FLAWED

Carried it on the WHW and loved the small pack size and weight. Some real quality features.
I found the fly-sheet wasn't held far enought away from the inner, in heavy rain water splashed up inside. And it pooled on the flat top, which wasn't a problem but disconcerting.
Does the job but I don't love it: MSR paid so much attention to some features, like the lovely pegs, and then threw on a fly that doesn't quite fit.

MY SOLUTION TO PACK WEIGHT.

Lightweight, easy and quick to pitch, when packed up occupies small area of rucksack(packs up to size of beach tent)large storage area.excellent ventilation
Groundsheet thin,I use a silver beach mat to protect it.Unable to sit up in it.If your over 6ft tent will be too smalll for you.It takes a bit of thought how to get in and out.
My answer to the pack weight.Paid only £112 for it so in my eyes an absolute bargain. The size takes a bit getting used to but once youve been on a multi day trip it becomes second nature. In my view if you only use it for kipping in ( ie walking from 9am till darkness) its the perfect backpacking tent.

GOOD 1 MAN TENT

very light weight(1.2kg), tiny pack size, feels like quality, good pegs, guys etc. well ventilated especially for a small tent
very low profile- three season rating but when well pegged and guyed i have used it at 2200m in a major storm and it was ok!
everyone moans about inner first pitching, yeah its a pain when its raining but with the fastex buckle fly getting it on takes a minute if your experienced!
Small size, this is a small tent, not good if youre over 6ft- try zoid 1
bathtub is a little thin
Good tent, well made, good accessories, good materials, small pack size, light,
great tent!!(if you do not mind not being able to sit up in it!)
