Great for fair weather wild camping

Used mine many times,a great bag requiring a shuffling technique to get in & out, best in fair weather as getting out & getting dressed in the wind & rain isnt very nice, very breathable.Quite roomy for a bivy bag with some storage space for a few essentials.
Nothing really.

Terra Nova Jupiter - a very nice piece of kit!

This is a really nice hooped bivi. A recent trip to the summit of Braeriach resulted in 50mph winds from about 3am. I hunkered down and spent a fairly comfortable night (although the flapping did make sleep a little difficult!). No danger of the bivi being blown down/away by the wind and i got me, my boots and pack in it with room to sip on a mug of whisky and read my book! (I am around 5'10'). Completely waterproof and only a little condensation around my head (from my breath), which isn't bad as I was quite warm at times. Nice light alternative to a tent.
A bit noisy in the wind, but I think most tents would have blown away by that stage anyway, so can't be too harsh! A little tricky to get in and out of.
Great bit of kit if you don't mind the cramped nature of a hooped bivi.

a modern classic

Lightweight - 829g on my scales
waterproof - goretex
ventilation options
generously sized
mozzie net on the front hood
optional hoop pole for the head end
expensive at full rrp - look around there are always bargains though!
head entry - so its make like a worm time
can get wet when getting in/out of it if raining hard
can be flappy in exposed pitches!
Got this really cheap (£100) so the value for money is excellent. I wouldnt pay the full price of £270 for it! Its waterproof and considering its a bivvy, the condensation had in it has been minimal so far. really like the hooped head end for keeping the bivvy off your face to allow reading or eating whilst lying on your stomach. the mozzie net is a godsend and i like the fact that it is on the outside of the bivvy so that if it rains you can just seal up the waterproof head end without too much fiddling.
it is often compared to the rab ridge raider and they are very similar it has to be said. there doesnt appear to be much in it at all. I really like my jupiter and the fact i can stuff it in my pack easily and know that it will keep off the worst weather. used in combo with a small head tarp and its a real cracker for simple camping at its best
