Showerproof; Almost

It's Green. Good for indoor display or arid climates.
First outing, Leaked like a sieve along the totally unnecessary ridge seam, soaking the inner tent and ground sheet. Like all tents in this layout it flaps a bit in the wind but hey, that helps the water run off before it leaks through to the inner so perhaps that's a design feature.
The much vaunted hydrostatic head is a bit pointless when you can see daylight around the stitching. If you like the style then the Beta at half the price should be just as effective. OK the heavier ground sheet would be a bit bulkier but it will probably not balloon up and lift off the ground in the lightest of breezes the way the omega GS does.

Reliable tent, fast pitching, spacious for 2 with their gear.

Reliable, was really easy to pitch from the first try, spacious for 2 people and their gear, plenty of room inside the tent to sleep 2, it was able to withstand temperatures and humidity where other tents did not (owners were complaining about cold and wet conditions), porch area allows a lot of gear to be safely stored from weather conditions, can withstand rain and water morning moisture was no problem apart from the porch area where when the doors are fully closed.
One door was mesh which allows the door to be left open without worrying for insects.
Porch area with groundsheet have a dead space which allows sometimes insects to enter, make sure you secure your gear otherwise you might encounter unfriendly creatures.
Make sure you find a spot with shade on warm days otherwise the tent will be really hot, in the evening make sure you leave at least the one door (with the mesh) open for proper ventilation of the porch area otherwise condensation will appear.
Poles get easily bent if you overdo it, pegs are really cheap and bent also in the slightest force, make sure you buy a pack of strong ones, pegs are not to be used on rocky areas.
For its money a very decent tent, packs really small and rests 2 people very comfy, it is easily mounted even on a motorcycle, but would not recommend it as a hiking / trekking tent since its a bit bigger than lightweight mountain tents (I believe the 250 version would be smaller), if solo it could take a while to pitch it, not because it's difficult but rather due to its size.
Has many pegging points that make the tent reliable under harsh conditions.
3 people would be a bit squashed in the tent (unless small in size), for it's price I believe it's one of the best bargains out there!

FANTASTIC TENT, GREAT VALUE

this tent has just spent a week on a clifftop facing the North Sea, enduring strong, gusty winds and sudden, torrential, monsoon like downpours. Both the sleeping compartment and the porch stayed dry, and it didn't threaten to blow away or bend out of shape.
-pitching - all in one - quick, easy, simple
-poles - alloy, so light and strong, colour coded
-sleeping compartment - good size for two adults or 3 kids, sufficient for 3 adults, tunnel design means no wasted space. The attached inner means it is impossible to wrongly tension, and there was no way it was going to touch the outer and cause a leak. The inner can be unclipped from the bottom, allowing a weeks worth of dust to be tipped out!
-porch - great size, useful windows, door either side, so I pitched it with the porch facing the wind. This meant the sleeping compartment was quieter in the driving rain, and doors were away from the wind /rain. The ground sheet can be removed totally.
-cannot remove the inner totally if you needed to dry it. I haven't needed to dry it 'unpitched' yet, (managed to catch a dry spell between the squalls) so don't know how much of a nuisance this will be.
- the ground sheets are quite thin. However, they are very waterproof, and seem quite strong. Because weight/space wasn't an issue, I used an extra ground sheet under the sleeping area, to give the ground sheet extra protection. However I didn't have one for the porch, and there was no damage to it at all.
- the porch ground sheet can flap in strong winds, and I didn't manage to get it tight enough to stop a small amount of the horizontal rain entering. However, this only affected the very edge of the porch, on the windward side.
very easy to use, not too heavy, small pack size. A great tent for small families/couples, or for teenagers.
Equally useful as a longer-term base tent, or for walking/biking tours - because its so quick and straight forward to put up, I wouldn't have that sinking, 'oh no, got to get the tent up before we can sit down' feeling at the end of a long day!
