Excellent all rounder and now even better due to reduced weight. I've pitched this on bare rock at 3500ft without pegs - using rocks instead and had the wind lifting the tent up while battering the top down - Continue reading...
Fab tent for 2 to carry and live in comfort. Continue reading...

Despite their proud reputation....Terra Nova tents don't seem to be man enough for the job in dry dusty environments!  I have used a second hand Super Quasar in the arctic on 4 occasions and had zip trouble.  This year I took a brand new - yes brand new - Ultra Quasar on its first outing there and one inner mesh door zip completely failed, the other got ratchety and was on its way to failure.  I had to sew one door up to keep the mosquitoes out.  Terra Nova said dust had caused the failures and I had to pay to get the tent fixed.  Poor little Terra Nova tents...my colleagues had an REI tent and a 'cheap' Eurohike tent...no problems at all!

That's got to say something about the quality of zippers in brand new Terra Nova tents!

Hi, we are just back from Bolivia where we did some trekking in the Andes at 4000/5000m. We were supplied with Doite tents (Chillean brand). I'd never seen this brand before but they were OK quality tents.
Part way thru' it got windy, very windy and dry!! Lots and lots of dust. And yes ALL the tent zips started to fail. As night time temps were -10/-15 0C I was just a bit worried. Fortunately our guide knew just how to fix them. I don't know what he did but it worked.
Maybe someone out there can enlighten me/the rest of us, as it would be a really useful trick to know.
I guess most tent zips would have the same problems with lots blowing dust, not just Terra Nova.
Cathy.
