Great base camp and car camping tent

We have had this tent since 2004, nearly 8 years and it's continuing to go strong.

Plus points are it's strength, room and longevity. It has a morass of guy lines to ensure it stays stable whatever the weather provided you pitch as you should do with all tents with it's tail in to the wind. The Inner tent is massive with plenty of space for three and loads for two people.

The Vestibule is also huge as well and we have happily seen out some shocking weather in comfort.

The TBS system works but as it cuts across your living space you only want it up when the wind starts howling.
Weight isn't light, but let's face it you're not going to go backpacking with this tent!
A great base camp tent that will put up with some abuse and has stood the test of time.

BIG GREAT STARTER TENT

Cavernous space, very comfy on rainy days, lots head room, huge vestibule fits my bike! Ripstop material
weight 5kg! (heavy)
fiddly setup
Nylon
Fades with UV (nylon)
sags morning and evening (fibre stretches)
Served me well for 5 years a good £ - KG - space ratio..A good solid middle end tent, but too heavy for touring/trekin with.
Great tent to be stuck in bad weather!
huge vestibule cookin/eating/entertaining in (lots room for the neighbours ;-D )
Never once leaked on me in rain, its pretty bleached now though from UV deg.
Pretty fiddly setup (esp on ur own!) 20min job with all the messin! (when you KNOW what your doin ;-D
Nylon material weakness:
fade from UV sun exposure (Oz/NZ kills this tent!)
susceptable to expansion/extraction due to temperature changes
P.S. dont pitch too tight at night/evening or too loose (sags at night/stretches in day!..SNAP go your poles ;-D )

HUGE 2 MAN

Very large - very strong - loads of room and ventilation. Ideal base camp tent for two persons
Too many clips and adjusters. Large pack size and weight so incomprehesible to me as a hiking tent.
Very big good base tent complex in some areas but massively stable

BIG, GREEN CASTLE.

Stable, roomy, well engineered, very adaptable to weather conditions.
Slightly fiddly setting up; all those clever straps and leads look less so in a heap on the floor.
The huge internal space is a shock if you're used to small backpaking tents. Liked all the door/vent options makes very adaptable living. Loads of room to cook/drink etc under cover.

Big side on storm huffed and puffed but didn't blow our house down. Very stable and secure. Great tent, many around for about £100 now.
