Start at the car park/lay-by at the eastern tip of Llyn Ogwen. Follow the track up to Tal y Llyn Ogwen farm and follow the obvious path up towards Ffynnon Lloer, there are markers/poles all of the way but essentially you follow the stream up. Before you reach the Llyn at the top, walk to the left and start your ascent of Pen yr Ole Wen. There are some easy scrambles here and the path is obvious.
Once you reach the top, just follow the path to first Dafydd and then Llewelyn. Dafydd is a nice place for lunch as there three ring cairns at the summit. If you like you can then go on to Yr Elen, which is a small out crop from Llewelyn which you can see from Dafydd, it'll add about an hour to the walk. Then return to Llewelyn, and head south towards the final two peaks, again following the obvious path. This takes you to a nice little ridge called Craig yr Isaf, there's a small scramble either side, or if you like you can follow the path down beside Ffynnon Llugwy reservoir and return to the A5 this way.
If you carry on to Pen yr Helgi Du, there's an extra two peaks and about 2-3 hours of walking. There's a small scramble up to Pen yr Helgi Du's summit, it's a nice grassy summit so it's a good place for a break with stunning views over towards Tryfan. The final peak of the day Pen Llithrig y Wrach is directly in front of you, there's a small descent to the stile and a long seemingly endless ascent, but again the views are amazing over the long Llyn Colwyd reservoir and it's a pleasant feeling when you finally see the last cairn of the day.
The path down is fairly steep especially as your knees will be very tired by now, the path is mostly obvious and you can see the bridleway you join at the bottom. Follow the bridleway over the second bridge (the first one has a metal grate across it and seemingly no path beyond). You can see a path running next to the weir/stream and to take it you have to go over another bridge which is fairly hidden but only a few metres from the other bridge. Follow the path across two or three stiles until you can see a small but clear path heading towards a farm, it's fairly boggy towards the end but the path is still obvious plus Tryfan is always in sight acting as a marker. Follow the path until you reach Tal y Braich farm; there are national trust markers pointing you through the farm and along a dirt track the runs to the A5 and return back to the car, or the bus stop.
