Starting from the car park walk a few yards towards the village then turn right through a kissing gate and continue on to a fork. Keep right at the fork (signposted)and go between the old waste tips and the abandoned quarry buildings to a stile. A further gate and stile follow before the path curves left and another gate before a path comes in from the right - this comes from the alternative start at SH 577514.
Go left, through the kissing gate, and across the stream then continue uphill to an abandoned hut. Beyond the ruined hut the path crosses another small stream before a kissing gate leads onto the ridge of Llechog. Turn right and follow the ridge to a notorious set of zig zags that ice up badly in winter. You now emerge at Bwlch Main, where the South Ridge route joins, and climb the other side to a large stone monolith marking the junction with the Watkin Path. A few yards further on you reach the summit of Snowdon.
