The weekend's Pennine Way birthday celebrations saw the entire route walked in a day in a fitting participatory tribute to Britain's first official long distance path.

It's time for a big cake with 40 candles on it as the Pennine Way celebrates its birthday this weekend and here's how you can be part of the celebrations by walking a section of the route :-)
