Slightly different from our normal Friday action, this is a fascinating excerpt from an audio interview with Edinburgh-based mountaineer Jamie Andrew who lost both his hands and feet to frostbite in an alpine epic which killed his climbing partner in 1999.

It's really quite humbling what Jamie's gone on to achieve. Well worth a listen and if you want to know more about Jamie's story, he's going to be appearing at Buxton Opera House on Sunday 17 June at 7.30pm. Ticketes available from www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk/whats-on/jamie-andrew.

That's Andrew, not Andrews (it's correct in the text, but not the title).

Jamie's a good speaker, and the book's well worth a read too.

Pete.
