Pining for the sunshine? Good news, the European long distance
path E4 has been extended to the Mediterranean island crossing it from east to west.
The new cross country route, it says here, uses mostly mountain
paths and gives walkers the chance to see lesser known, visually
exciting parts of the island. And the good news is that the Cyprus
Tourism Organisation (CTO) has launched a brand new guide which is
available free to UK visitors.
The Cyprus section of the path is 540km long and would take an
estimated 200 hours to walk crossing the Troodos Mountains, the
Akamas Peninsula - above - and other rural areas.
The guide splits the path into four geographical regions then
breaks down the route into smaller chunks with maps, directions,
distances and approximate times.
You can obtain a copy of the guide at www.visitcyprus.org.cy
or by phone on 020 7569 8800.

... on the CTO website can they give me a clue where it is, cos I can;t find it on there.
I'm after somewhere for this summer and this sounds an interesting and different route.
