A tape made by British climber Julie Tullis in 1982 has been returned to her husband after being discovered on a glacier, reports the BBC.

Tullis was the first British woman to climb K2 in 1986 but died during the descent when a group of climbers were stranded high on the mountain by a fierce storm. Alan Rouse, one of the finest climbers of his generation, died in the same incident. Tullis's climbing partner Kurt Diemberger was one of two survivors who made it back down to base camp.

The tape was made during an earlier expedition to the Himalaya and lost. It was found, in perfect condition, preserved by the glacier and has been returned to her husband, Terry Tullis, in Kent. Full story on the BBC news site.
