More Everest On The Box Last Night
There's no escape from the world's highest mountain with another documentary appearance on BBC2 tonight, Wednesday.

Just a quicky to remind you either to stay up way past your normal
bed time, or set the video.
On BBC2 tonight - Wednesday - at 11.30 it's Everest: Getting to
the bottom of the mountain. This is what the BBC web site says

When Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reached the summit of Mount
Everest on 29 May 1953, their names were linked forever. But the
tidal wave of celebrity that engulfed them when they returned soon
threatened to drive them apart.
Newspapers competed for exclusives, politicians sought to bask in
their reflected glory, and nationalists claimed the triumph for their
own causes. And behind the clamour a simple nagging question - who
got there first?
